Weekend Events

Have some friends coming up from NYC and DC for the weekend, and they want to go out and spend some time on the water. We are trying to come up with a good list of things to go do on the sound on the Long Island side between Manhasset Bay and Mt Sinai, and on the Connecticut side between City Island and Milford, CT
Something with a good night life on / near the water would be ideal. The girls are not liking the bands lined up for Stamford Harbor Live, and want more fun options.

If you want night life you can't beat Captain's Cove in Black Rock Harbor (near Bridgeport). You can't really leave the marina, but they have live bands, decent restaurant, etc.

You can sail across to Port Jeff. The town is nice to walk around, there are lots of bars and restaurant. Plenty of marinas (town, Danfords, Setauket Yacht Club).

Further West is Northport and Huntington. In Northport you can grab a mooring from Seymours boat yard for $40. It includes launch service. Further into the harbor is Brittania Yachting center. They have a great pool and nice grounds. More $ (of course) and it's a decent walk to town but the place is very nice. Huntington has more night life that Northport but Northport is smaller and 'cuter'.

That's about it for a minute of thought.
