On a recent trip I kept encountering a stringy drifting seaweed that
wrapped around my prop. I could tell it was there by a change in sound
and a vibration in the shaft. Reversing the prop momentarily would
somewhat relieve the problem, but not shake it clear completely. This
is the first time I've encountered this stuff ... and I hope the last!

The Vega prop location is very "out there" with not much protection
from the keel and none from the rudder. Has anyone on the forum similar
experience with this problem? I'm wondering if a line cutter would
help, or is that just moving up one level of complication? It's pretty
hard to reach the stuff with a boat hook to pull it off.
BTW, I have a three-blade prop.
