Weaver Davits and Beneteau

Does anyone have experience using Weaver davits on the stern of the new Beneteau line? Previous forum discussions point out that Weaver Industries discourages use of their davit system on sailboats. Apparently the dinghy may come in contact with water when healed over.

I had some on my Bavaria 49 and it can definitely be a problem. I ended up securing the tender with a rope to lift it just a few centimeters and then it was fine. I have just bought some more Weaver Davits for a B54 which will be launched in June. My biggest unknown is what size tender to buy - can I get any larger than 260 without running into the same problem?? Of course the bigger the baot, the wider the stern and the less of a problem this should be. In the end though they're so great I really want to see if I can make it work...
