Any one remember the scene in City Slickers where one of the actors says to Billy Crystal how growing up he and his father never saw eye to eye, but they could always talk about baseball. “We always had baseball” he said.

Has sailing been that bridge between generations for you?

I guess I was reflecting today about how important sailing has been in my life and in my family. Sailing has been a passion, something bigger than ourselves, and has always been neutral ground for when my dad and I were emotionally on the outs. Sailing has also become that same place for me and my teenage son.

Happy New Year Everybody!!

I have had to give my sons time and space to mature. When they left home them became young people that I know and care about but how they live their lives is none of my business. Our common ground is work and gardens and pets and kids.

Our family vacations bareboating have always been great. They've created some wonderful memories. So vis-a-vis our weekend escapes on board are little snippits fo the same.
