Waypoints not showing on Zeus3

I entered a number of waypoints this morning into my B&G Zeus3 chartplotter. They are saved, as they do appear in the list. I selected "show icon and title" for all. Yet when I look on the display they do not appear. What might I have done wrong?

I am not at the boat and thinking about it, perhaps the longitude was marked as E instead of W; a silly error. But then, the graphic below is from the owner's manual. That location is inland in Nigeria.

Did you save them by entering coordinates or by selecting a place on the chart? Entering coordinates is more likely error prone than picking on the chart. If you go into the waypoint list is there any way to select the waypoint and center the chart on it? That would show you where the plotter thinks it is, so you could tell if it’s displaying a mark where it thinks it belongs, or if it’s hiding it.

There are times when it takes time for everything to load and display properly. It doesn't hurt to double check your coordinates, and verify settings under the "More Options" from the dialogue box, above. It may also take a particular zoom level, or display panel for things to appear. I know that I have waypoints that I have entered, which do appear on my chart as I travel near by ("Whale sighting!"). But, I also know that even things like current and tide indicators or values may not be accurate for a couple of minutes after they first appear on the screen. You could try selecting one of your waypoints and then ask the system to navigate to it, that might display it.

I'll be back at the boat on Wednesday and I will take another look with your suggestions in mind. Thanks.

Is this a case that NONE of the WPs show? My Ray has a declutter option that IIRC hides ALL WPs, plus a 2nd hide/show ALL waypoints.

I believe I have it set to show all details. Another point to check.

On my system, there are options in Waypoints to display name and icon for each individual waypoint (page 38). But, there is a checkbox under Settings then Chart, to display Waypoints (along with Laylines, Range Rings, Grid lines, etc... eventually, on page 37).

SoSound nailed it. You would think displaying waypoints would the default......

The rest of the story: Before I went down the path SoSound suggested, I mucked around in various settings. Nope. Then I followed the suggested path and the waypoints appeared!

Except, now only depths less than my shallow setting ( 6 feet ) appeared, no deeper depths were displayed. I mucked around more trying to fix what I broke. No dice. So when I saw the "Reset" option I went for it. I didn't select all the options, but enough.

After the unit reset I knew something was off when the first prompt was, "Start in retail mode?" No. The next prompt was to select a language. (Crap.) But then the chart came up and all the depths were displayed! In meters.

I had to muck around some more to correct all the basic settings, such as units. Now all is good. I think.
