How long before I can wax a rolled on paint job? Has anyone ever used turtle wax/ car wax? I was thinking this was another one of those items that they just stick on the MARINE label and jack up the price.
I rolled and tipped my sides. I waited about 2 months to wax. I use car wax and it works great. On the other hand, I don't use it on the deck. I use a 3M teflon product (marine) that is $20. It waxes great, but is not slick on foot when wet. The car wax would be.
I have used Turtle wax, as well as Maguiers and others on my painted boat for years with no problems. However, I just repainted my hull in February and was going to wait about 6 months before I waxed it. I don't know if that's necessary, but it makes me feel better to know that the paint is well cured.
