Any particularly good or favorite boat waxes anyone can recommend? I'm considering McGuires Flagship but I wonder how much I am paying for the name and if it is really worth it?
Thanks.

Collinite Fleet Wax (Paste)

I have used Collinite Fleet Wax paste for several years. It offers great, long lasting protection. When ready to wax (after a good cleaning) use a spray bottle (mister) of water to dampen the surface, then apply the paste wax (I do it by hand but you don't have to) to a small area (10 sq. ft.). Let dry only to the point of about 75 - 80% dry and remove the wax using a microfibre cloth. Then buff either by hand using the microfibre or using the machine. On the hull, I use a piece of masking tape to denote where I have stopped each time so as not to miss an area.
This is top quality wax in my opinion and worth the small extra effort. If you don't use the water mist technique or let it dry completely prior to removal, then the wax is hard to remove and that is no fun. Using the technique above, it comes off just like liquid wax, only it protects better and longer.
Good luck,
Tom:)

Collinite

I've used Mcguires 50 Clean & Wax, the highly rated StarBrite CleanerWax, and an auto wax, never satisfied. This year I went with Collinite paste wax - so far very good - we'll see.
