Wax options for older boat?

My P26 is a '74 and the deck and hull isn't glossy but it's in remarkably good shape for such an old boat. What options are there (products or easier procedures) if I wanted to clean it well and wax etc...? Oh, without getting in the water with an electric buffer... Stays docked in north Fla near Wakulla.

Poli Glow!

I used to rub out and wax our boat. No more! I use Poli Glow and I will never go back. I love Poli Glow! It goes on so easy - and lasts. Yes, it will scuff, but the scuffs are easy to repair. Applying Poli Glow is a painless process. But, as the instructions will tell you, you need a clean surface, because if you wipe it over dirt, you will have shiny dirt!

You might try it out. You might want to rub out the finish the first time before you apply it. Go by the directions.

Maine Sail has written the primer on buffing and I am now a true believer, I did use PoliGlow, but it Yellows. Never again for me.

I figured this subject had been beat to death already...
I just need to be able to clean the hull well with something on a pole, probably going to be magic eraser on a mop handle and apply a protectant the same way. Don't mind detailing crooks and cranny's by hand, but I've had a whole life of rubbing every square inch of the hull of a 26ft boat with a hand cloth.
My dad built a 26ft sloop from a set of plans, started when he was 17yrs old finished when he was 32! We sailed it at PC Beach and shell point for years, then spent 4 years modifying the keel and re-fiberglassing the whole boat! :eek: Dang that was a beautiful boat...And that's just one project out of maaaany!
So with this boat, I'd love to freshen up and protect the gel coat a bit without it cutting into my sail time too much. That said, I am going to have to paint the accent blue sections soon. Probably winter.

As mentioned, Maine Sail's instructions do work fabulosly, and once the gelcoat is in good shape, the maintenance isn't that bad at all, I did my whole hull this year in a day, with Jen's help. It was an easy day of work and we both commented at the end of the day how much less work it was to maintain things this year after we did the hard work last year getting it into shape. We even stopped for a long lunch and were done in time for dinner, so not bad at all.
