I am seriously considering a 1997 Hunter 42 Passage. The current owner mentioned the echo-chamber affect in the aft cabin caused by wave slap against the overhang. I assume this applies while in the slip or at anchor. It bothered him to extent that he would suspend a foam "bra" beneath the overhang to quiet this down. So a logical conclusion is he is either hyper-sensitve to this condition OR it's a significantly annoying attribute.I previously owned a Beneteau 35s5 and this "wave slap" was a very real issue so I can relate. However, the Beneteau overhang was 4 feet long, 3 feet wide and flat as a pancake.... suspended about 2" above the water. On the other hand - the H42 has a substantially smaller surface and has some curvature to it - it a far heavier boat so I'd expect the problem to be greatly diminished.Have any of you noticed the slapping? Has it been a significant detraction relative top your cruising comfort? Thanks.
