Sorry- I posted this earlier, but not sure if anyoen saw it.
I just acquired a Hunter 31 (1984). I and another boat owner walked the entire boat- I can't seem to find where to fill the water tank! Can someone help? The owner took the manual. I see the waste and diesel, but not water.. thanks!

Well- we looked in the anchor locker. The anchor's been in there some time,. corroding away, so.. I'll have to have gloves to remove it. The entire anchor and rode need replacement. So.. wasn't really thrilled to go digging around in there unless I knew for sure its there... thanks though- I'll bring some gloves next trip down (ugh!)

I had a 1984 h31 and if I remember correctly there is a small teak piece by the boarding ladder. I think the water fill is under it.

Oh! yes! I have seen that!! I never thought it could be UNDER one of those.. my gosh.. I am sure that must be it.. thank you!! That was driving me crazy!

Just aft of the helm seat.

Julie: I wish these guys would not give you advise when they do not have a clue what the hell they are talking about.

The 83-87 H'31 have a water tank that is located underneath the aft quarter berth bunk. The fill for this tank was located under the teak step that was just aft of the helm seat that was between the helm seat and the aft exit for the stern boarding ladder.

There is also an access for the emergency tiller in the case you loose your steering for the vessel.

Be sure to open these and test them before you need these options.

On my 84 Hunter 30 water fill

Our water fill is located in the aft lazarette on the starboard side of the elevated helm seat. It has a blue cap. We added a few capfuls of bleach to freshen the supply before we added additional water. FYI, if it is empty or near empty, it will take a while to fill, holds thirty gallons. We are recent purchasers of the same boat, and have done a lot of renovations over the last two months, happy to answer questions or share ideas.

I have a 1984 H31 which I bought in June 1984. The water fill cap was in the aft Lazerette on the starboard side but later models had them moved to under the flip up teak step behind the helm where the emergency tiller access is.
I moved my water fill to this position from the lazerette for better access to it.
