Water, Water, Water

Thanks All for your help!!!!!!!!!!Well, last night we got 1 1/2 " of rain (wow we DID really need it, we have been really dry) I checked the valve and it is open , I also checked the valve to the sink drain and it was closed. I had a 1 1/2" water in the cockpit.How do these drains get cleaned? Can a plunger be used? Any suggestions?Had the jib going today for the first time... great to sail with a friend with all the sails a going! Had a great time!!Thanks allChris

hello chris, I have used a plunger, and a coat hanger to clear the drains. When I first got my 22 I had to crawl under the keel to poke a coat hanger up the outlet, somehow,a piece of tree bark got up inside of the outlet and started the blockage.john

Water Drain

When my cockpit drains got clogged, I was able to remove the screens, and pull out some debris which allowed the water to flow downhill again. Also, I think Catalina Direct sells a kit to install one-way drains thru the transom, should your problem continue.
