Well here is a new one I havn't seen in here yet. Went down to the marina today to buff and fluff the boat a bit. While I was there noticed that the water was about half way down so decided to fill it up. Filling away, after a little while thinking that maybe that tank gauge was a little off. And then I hear water splashing over by the bilge pump outlet.Took off down below, opening floor boards just to confirm flow direction and quickly lifted the forward v-berth cushions out and found the vent line completely seperated from the tank. Actually, the threaded fitting had come out. This is a 356 and only a few months old at this point. I'm suspicious if the fitting was ever really fully screwed in. On the other hand, it looked like there might be a little damage on the threads (tank side) so maybe it was in and someone working on the boat managed to kick it loose. They were up there messing with the anchor windlass a few times during commissioning. This is not the first time the tank has been filled. So those of you with new 356's or perhaps other Hunters, check all the connections. How many times have we had this conversation here? The good news is the bilge pump seems to work quite well.Dan Jonas (S/V Feije II)
