I have noticed after a rain that there is water seeping from a hole in the floor under the front panel at the base of the mast bulkhead. I have applied sealant to the screws under the mast base and around the mast and wiring but it still appears. Any ideas?

water,

This is where water will end up in that boat regardless of its origins, in my case, I am replaacing a port plex window, there is lots in the archives about detecting leaks, one of the first things that comes to mind is to use some thing like colored sidewalk chalk and mark around that area ,after a rain there should be a track thru the chalk giving you an indicatin of where it is coming from , you can also let someone inside boat and turn the hose on, and , see, again , there is lots in archives, good luck Mike B

take a look

two areas to look at are the shroud chain plates and the anchor locker as you indicate in the forward section of the boat. Also, climb into the rear cockpit locker and check there too. Usually you will find them. If perplexed, close all ports and tape them. Put plastic over the compainionway and tape too. Take a leaf blower and insert into plastic and let it blow. make sure to tape around the blower. Then take a bucket of soakpy water and a brush and brush every fitting. You get air bubbles and guess what? You will find your leaks. I call it the baggy effect. Crazy Dave Condon

water leaks

I had a similar stuborn rain leak on my h23 a few years ago. After resealing everything I could think of, including things that didn't need resealing, I found that my problem was at the rubrail. We used clear marine silicone between the deck and the rubrail. The boat has been dry as a bone for the last two years. s/v Miss Brandy
