How do I get water out from under the starboard side head? And why is it there? When I took the floorboard off that covers the round edge around the head, there is water under it that does not drain to the bilge. I assume I can take up the shower floor, but after cleaning the bilge out, I didn't have time to look! See pics! Any ideas? -BCD

Hi,

Afraid this can be rather a typical thing, there are a number of things to check and all inside the head (plus assume is fresh water):

1 - Do you have the water heater option? Some were mounted on the bulkhead and hidden behind the aft bulkhead panel - might be leaking
2 - Shower sump has a crack and is leaking
3 - a leak from the sink drain?

Also, do take note to check that the bottom of the woodwork for the bulkhead (door frame) has a good seal on it....some ended up without a spray of varnish and once moisture gets in there it will spread up the panels and turn them dark/black

Drill some clean-out holes and uses a wet-vac to get the water out.
Then put in some caps to cover the holes.

I do have hot water but mine is under the port settee. I am afraid it is a leak from the shower sump, sink drain looks clean and dry!
Maybe just a small leak since the water looks old and I ran the shower and sump and it all seemed to work and didn't see/hear a leak.
May just have to clean this out and live with it! As long a the forward shower sump doesn't leak too, I'll just use that one mainly.
I will check the bulkhead seal next time! Thanks -BCD.

Drill in the shower basin itself? How big holes? 2" too big? How thick is the floor? I may talk to Beneteau before I do that, but I like the idea! -BCD.
I'd really like to see whats under the whole thing in the first place!
