I already replaced the hoses, on my Hunter 31, but I suspect there is a hole in the fiberglass tank. I already removed the screws from the panel in the quarter birth. I can now see the leak. How do I repair it and also how do I remove the tank.

Anthony: I assume that you have a H'31 1983-1987 model ! If this is the case the tank is NOT removeable. You just need to patch the tank with some fiber glass. Depending on where your leak is it may be repairable from the outside. If not, an inside patch should be fine. I would think you can just use some resin. If it too big, you may need to lay down a couple of strips of cloth.

Steve,
I know now that you can't take the tank out of the boat. I removed all the
screws from the cover plate in the quarter berth, plus all the factory caulking. But when I try to lift up the cover it will not lift up. It seems there is something holding it from underneath. Prying the corner I chipped part of the fiberglass cover. Waiting for your answer, Anthony.

Anthony:

I think you just need to work on it. I posted something several years ago about the lid removal. We ended up glassing the lid back in place and putting two inspection ports in the lid for cleaning.

There is a baffel that runs from one corner to the other. See if you can find the write up that I did and see if that helps. I can tell you that the lid removal was a S.O.B.
