A couple of weeks ago I posted with the query about installing an inspection plate in my poly water tank and a number of folks thought this was a good project to under take. So I bought a Beckson clear plastic 6 " inspection plate, gathered my tools, emptied the tank, but before I started cutting I noticed that the tank had a slight camber to it.

What do I need to do to compensate for the camber install a gasket ? Also I was going to use SS screws to attach plate, but I am wondering now if I should use nut and bolts. In addition, I was wondering what type of sealant to use. One of the posts I read said to use 3M4000.

Thanks in advance for any nuggets of advice

I had the same issue, using wood screws and some sealant. Learning: Yes, ss machine screws and lock nuts better than wood screws for sure. I got some EDPM rubber and made a gasket PLUS siliconed the crap out of it. No more leaks in year 3 now.
