Presently, we are not drinking the water out of our water tanks. In the near future, we will be in a position of which we will need to. Therefore, we are interested in placing at least one water filter along the cold water line. In addition, we should probably also place some bleach into our water tanks. Any recommendations in converting our water to drinking compatable. Thanks, Mark

I know you are not worried about boat odors. Her book (at the link below)has the answers to your direct questions, and some answers you may not know you need. For instance, strong chlorine in the fresh water tank is good for less than 24 hours as part of the annual "shock" routine to clean out pests. But continual dosing with chlorine will not be enough to help at all to kill the bugs unless it is also destroying your tank and fittings. David Lady Lillie

Nature Pure
On my 35.5 I put a Nature Pure Basic unit along with a Shurflo accumulator tank in my water line right after the pump. This means that all of the water used in the boat is filtered by the ultrafine 0.1 micron filter. It reduces the pressure some, but not objectionable. I could raise the pressure by changing out the water pump to a higher pressure unit. The picture shows the filter and accumulator tank under the settee.
