Draining the tank
Thirty gallons of water is a lot to move with the supplied manual sink pump. Chris, I can't recall if taking the tank's bottom hose off will cause the water to drain directly to the bilge, but I don't think it works that way. If it does, you could empty the tank to the bilge and pump the water from the bilge with the cockpit-mounted hand pump a lot quicker. This is one of the reasons I put a pressure water system in mine. I usually refresh the tank contents several times a year, especially to remove the crud that starts to appear during the Summer Sweat Festival in the South. Removing the tank is a breeze, as long as it's empty. If it's full, quickly cap the tank's hose connections, get three strong men to stand it on it's flat end, take it to the cockpit and open the caps. A true semi-pain to deal with---maybe someone will have a better way. Good luck!
