Peggy et al With help from others on this board, I managed to solve my clogged water tank problem and thought I'd ask opinions on what would have caused this. We could not get water to flow from one of our 4 water tanks (which was filled and did not have a clogged vent). Each tank feeds a maniford from which the operator can select which tank to feed the plumbing system - the three other tanks were fine. Long story short - found a gelatinous mass of about 1 cc volume containing what appeared to be calcified particles clogging the tank valve at the manifold. Simply removing the valve and sucking out the gel fixed the problem but I have no clue what could have caused it or how to preclude it's recurrence.

Weeellll...the calcified particles are most likely

hard water minerals. I don't have a clue what the gelatinous stuff is, unless it's antifreeze residue. But I think I'd recommission the system if I were you. As for how to prevent it in the future...clean out the manifold each spring as part of boat recommissioning.
