Water stains

I have several water stains on the carpet above and on the sides of the window. I know how the water got in but am having a hard time removing the stains. I have used Dawn dishwashing liquid before with a soft tooth brush and towel but it doesn't seem to be working very well. One stain got worse. It is very frustrating. Any advise will be much appreciated.

I cleaned my entire carpeted walls with oxiclean using a carpet extractor (steam machine) I put two scoops of oxiclean into a pale of warm water, mixed it well, then poured that into the cleaning solution container. I went over the entire boat 4 times until the extracted water was cloudy, but clean. The more you do it the better the result.

Some use a diluted muratic acid solution. This sis by far the easiest known way.

i used some oxy based spray I found at walmart, not the oxyclean brand. sprayed it one and used a shop vac to suck it and the stains out. did it a few times, worked good and was cheap.

I used the OxiClean on the carpet today. Wow! that stuff is amazing. Thanks for your suggestions. The stains are completly gone.
