Water pressure regulator

The water pressure regulator on my boat (88 Hunter 28.5) is leaking. When I look at the water pump, it's a Shurflo 220–213–34. I can't seem to find the pressure of this pump, it's not written on the pump housing but I am assuming that it's a 30 to 35 pound pressure pump. How many PSI pressure regulator should I replace the old regulator with?
45 PSI ?

Most of regulators that I've seen advertised seem to have a connection for a hose, but I would preferred not to have that option; to make sure that someone doesn't accidentally Connect a hose onto the regulator to prevent a leak from sinking the boat. Are they available without the hose connection?

I think that just regulates the water pressure going into the boat. Some marina's have high pressure that can damage your pump and tanks.

So, do I not need this pressure regulator if I don't want to connect shore water?
Can I just put a plug on the line?

Correct, Mike.. Securely plug that water line (trace back to a tee and replace the tee with an ell or straight connector) and you can remove the regulator and cover that hole with a piece of starboard or teak

Correct, Mike.
Sipping 2nd cup of coffee.

Wait a minute... that appears to be if you are hooked to shore water INSTEAD of your 12VDC Shurflo to provide a water source.
Unless you plan to do THAT!
@kloudie1 is spot on!:thumbup:
Jim...

PS: I believe leaving a shore water source connected to your boat and OPEN, is a SINKING waiting to happen.

The fill for the fresh water tank is in the front of the boat, under the anchor rope.
I wasn't sure if the regulator was required in case the pump went nuts and over-pressured the lines.
I don't plan on using any shore water, so I'll just plug off the line to the regulator for now.

I can always re-think it later.
Thanks!
Mike
