Has anyone found where the water is getting in from the stern of the 456 while under power. I get a substantial amount of salt water buildup in my rear lazerettes after a few hours of motoring.
Check the rudder log. It may be cracked due to running aground. The rudder log is the tube that the rudder post is put through. At the base, where it meets the hull sometimes it breaks. It is easily fixed when out of water. Just apply some epoxy and let it dry before placing it back in the water.
don't know about the 456, but my Vision had no gasket to seal the aft lazarette. I got plenty of water just from being docked on the choppy Hudson River. I added gasket material I got from McMaster-Carr and this solved the problem. http://www.mcmaster.com/#bulb-seals/=vb2qm2
