We have been out in the Caribbean cruising now for almost 10 months and have yet to meat anyone with a water log. Watermakers are a popular topic of conversation out here as the water can be expensive or non existant in the out islands. Most of the time we have spent making water was sitting at anchor. The water log has to be towed or the optional motor kit needs to be purchased raising the cost near some of the dedicated units. We have an SK dedicated 12 volt unit and couldn't imagine the extra effort of trailing or rigging the water maker every time we wanted to use it.
