Yesterday I replaced all the electrical lines between the batteries, switch and starter, as well as the ground to my diesel. The engine was very happy with the upgrade, and now starts much easier. While doing my contortion act under the cockpit, I removed a screw which was holding a securing strap for the muffler, and saw "water" pouring out of the screw hole. I almost convinced myself that the water was draining from some part of the port sail locker, then reconsidered and tasted the "water". To my surprise, the water tasted very much like diesel fuel - turns out someone along the way put two screws into the fuel tank, which is fiberglass and molded into the hull. No leaks with the screw replaced, but now that i know, I have to fix it. It was a good reminder to consider what is behind those screws before driving them in.

Good news/bad news

Bad news is you have a diesel leak. Good news is you didn't have a holding tank leak (especially since you tasted it)hehe
