Beneteau First 305 Fajardo
Hi there:

I was interested in a 1985 Beneteau First 305 model but after a quick inspection I ran into a pretty high water llevel under the galley floor. It is showing water damage to the extend that part of the teak finish is gone and the wood is soft... Is this a common design problem? If so, is there any solutions to prevent future damage after fixing it??? This can be a deal breaker. I will appreciate any help.

Cheers!

No it is not a design issue. This particular boat has had some problems apparently. It could be that the bilge pump is not working or is even not wired correctly. But it should not be leaking. If so, it could be seawater, fresh water, etc. In any case, with the damage you described, I would stay away from this boat.
