On the 260 with the Yanmar engine, the bilge area right below the motor is separate from the main bilge. Water accumlates in there, the water source has not been found, in the mean time I have been removing the water with a sponge. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Wing keel

Les; You have a wing keel with an inboard version of the 260 now commmonly referred to as the 270. You have a drive shaft and when turning through the stuffing box, it is designed to allow for several drops of water to come through and spill into the area where you are talking about. Nothing not to worry. If it is allot of water, then you need to tighten down the nut on the stuffing box to a point that several drops of water will spill out when the shaft is turning. Also, check all hoses and in particular the raw water intake. Crazy Dave
