water in the cockpit.

Has anyone come up with a way to help drain the water from the cockpit? My 1976 25' holds water in the front of the cockpit. The water level has to be almost a half inch before it drains to the back drains. I don't have an inboard and I think that is why the boat doesn't set level in the water. Thanks

If the 25s have one shortcoming, it is the cockpit drain. In my opinion, the singular aft drain is not enough: however, I have no trouble with water standing in the fore part of the cockpit. Draining is just slow. Probably the best overall answer would be to add two drains, one to each of the fore corners of the cockpit. The other alternative would be to lighten the loading in the bow and shift more weight aft. Sounds like you might be a little bow heavy. The only time I have trouble with water standing in the fore part of the cockpit is when I am on the hard surface for the winter. The people who set up the cradle cannot seem to get it set so that the bow is slightly high allowing accumulated water in the cockpit to drain.
