I just bought a brand new Capri 16.5 and dropped her in the water for the first time yesterday. The cockpit immediately took on about 4+ inches of water at the back of the boat. And at the dock, the bow is above waterline for about 12 inches. There is no water in the forward hatch. I assume that there will be some water given the self-bailing cockpit holes... But when I sit in the boat, the water comes in at about 8 inches. When I get out, we are back to the 4+ inches (just over the hiking strap attachments at the back...). Any ideas of what the problem could be? The dealer was stumped and I'll need to call Catalina for some help.
