I just purchase a 1980 22' Catalina which is in dryodck for the winter I cleaned the boat and removed some standing water in the floor compartments by the electrical box and winch handle. The water returned after drying out both areas The color of the water is brown and was 1/8 high at the lowest point of these bilges We have not had any rain for weeks Should I be concerned ? Any reason this should happen ?? Can it be corrected ?? Thank you

holds

Have you checked the other holds? the water can be trapped in the bow and slowly seep under the liner to the area your talking about. I would inspect every hold and maybe raise the boat high in the bow to help it drain to the area where it can be removed. You might as well plan on rebedding everything if you want a dry boat. If the boat was in the water you might want to take a look at the bottom gudgeon seal. It most defantly is a source of leaks. Another is the keel locking bolt, grease usually fixes this one or removing it and covering it with epoxy.
