I have about 2 inches of water in the front two storage compartments on the starboard side.. No water in the bilges under the floor. I got inside the boat, sealed it up and had my wife spray water all over the c abin top, sides, the windows etc. I couldn't see any water coming in. It was wet under the seat cushion. I"m at a loss for ideas. After the winter there was quit a bit of water in all three compartment s on the starboard side and in the bilges. This wasn't unusual except for the amount of water.I don't know what else to do.

Thanks
Lee

When I leave my cushions in their normal space often condensation will form under the cushion and get quite wet. If you lift the cushions on end when leaving the boat, that should cure the wet cushion bottom problem.

Kind regards

It has to be a leaking chain plate on your starboard side. Sort of surprised its not on the port as well. Remove both chain plate coves, dig out all the old sealant, and reseal with that west marine brand silicone. I had the same issue, tons of water and this fixed it. She's dry as a bone now, even with Florida heavy rains. It may have gotten under your porta potti so you may want to drill a hole large enough the get one of those smaller shop vac hoses in there and suck that out. This is one of the causes of musty smell in this boat. I got the advice originally from Crazy Dave.

You don't mean in the V-berth?

I am in the process of repairing a clogged drain hose from the anchor locker which also leaks. This is on the starboard side as well.

I'm refering to the right side compartments in the main cabin. I'm wondering if it is coming through the top. I noticed water spotting on the wood trim. I'm going to check it closer when I go out this week. I replaced the pull handle fastened to the inside of the black plastic top last year. It looks like that directs rain water off to the side and into the drains along the cabin top. I may haveto lengthen it and make it wider. I don't really know. Things were dry as a bone all last season. I don't think it is the chain plate because I sprayed a lot of water there and I couldn't see even a hint of water coming in. This was also the case around the window. It is very frustrating. Thanks

Maybe the sliding hatch? The cabin top seems to change shape slightly with the shrouds tensioned and this had a big effect on the hatch for me, storage vs stepped

Two of the most problemamatic leaks are the shroud chain plates and the anchor well hose connection. The first is simple to repair as there is a cover plate for the chain plates (shroud) with four screws which you simply unscrew, lift up, get all caulk off and reseal with caulk oozing out with the excess caulk removed and use alcohol to clean up with.

In the V berth there should be a removable panel held in by screws but there will be some pressure on it. Remove it and see if any water is leaking there. If you have gone to that trouble anyway, recaulk/tighten up.

If you are at your wits end, then pressurize the cabin and apply soapy water to every fixture on the deck and rub rail. Any bubbling is indicative of water access or leak. You will need close everything putting tape over the hatch and a piece of plastic over the companionway taped down. Then put a slit into it and put an air blower into it and turn it on. This is one way a repair yard ususally finds the leaks.
