Most likely possibilities (joker valve is NOT one of 'em)
Cloudy greasy backflow is runback of water in the head discharge hose. Although a brand new joker valve will prevent it from actually getting into the bowl again, it'll only do so for a very short time...till it becomes only slightly worn. Preventing runback isn't the function of a joker valve.
1. It's an uphill run to the tank...you're not pumping long enough in the dry mode to move the flush all the way to the tank, so it's running back to the bowl. Any toilet that's working anywhere near spec can move waste/water at least 6' in the dry mode, so learn to use it to do more than just push the last of the water out of the bowl.
2. Tank vent is at least partially blocked, creating back pressure that pushes flush water back to the bowl.
3. Sea water mineral buildup in the head discharge line has reduced the diameter enough to create back pressure that's preventing the flush from making it all the way to the tank.
4. All of the above.
If 2 or 3 is happening, you should feel some increased pressure when you pump the toilet unless you're barely pumping long enough to empty the bowl.
