i have a h410 and i have had a constant1 inch of water in the main bilge.need to know if other 410 owners find this normal.i keep dying the bilge and it returns within 6 hours.
I have water in the bilge at all times. I'm not sure where from. I've run my air conditioning condensate hoses to the shower sump and have plugged the drains on the fridge/freezer. It could be coming from the shaft seal, but that does not appear to be the case. I do notice water coming from the air conditioning area under the aft cabin matressin the bilge area, but I have a condensate hose running from there to the sump--could be that it runs out of the pan when heeled. or water from rain or washing the boat could be getting in near the back of the boat? I do also know that the bilge pump allows some to run back and will not empty the bilge completely.I'll be interested in following the responses from other owners.Let
and I found it came from the water in the hose from the pump to the thru the hull. Bill has it right, it runs back in from the hose after the pump cycles off. I dried the bige complely by hand and it stayed dry, but if I poured water in the pump alwyas left about 3/4". I suppose the amount depends on the size of the hose and its length..Dick McKeeS?V Constellation
My 1990 Hunter 32 Vision also always has water in the bilege. I do know that my stuffing box, where the drive shaft goes through the Hull is required to drip one drop every 8 seconds. It was harder then hell to get that to happen, but I always make sure that there is a drip. I read somewhere that if I stopped the drip it would damage my drive shaft, I think it would cause it to over heat.
