Couple of usual suspects...

I was taking on quite a bit of water in the stern lazarette when I first got my H23. I believe the H22 is pretty similiar. I discovered that the lower rudder pinion was pretty loose and leaking quite a bit. I had to haul her to fix it but it was worth it. I replaced the teak pad, used plenty of 5200, fabricated a backing plate, used a fender washer and a lock washer and lock tite. Hasn't moved in three years and I still check it often. The second source was the cockpit drain hose. It was split and letting a lot of rain water in. Easy to replace. One other spot that habitually leakes on H23's: the lazarette hatch but it is very minor and I haven't figured out a good fix for it. It is so minor that I haven't bothered with it.
