I am getting water in the bilge and it is the colour of tea. Any ideas where it may be coming from. Hull yo deck joint perhaps ??

It would be indicative that wood is wet based on the color or you are taking on water where it is brackish. Suggest looking at the usual to include chain plates, mast step, etc.. However you did not tell us enough for others to help. Is it in the water or not? Does it collect water when it rains. Is it dry not in the water? More details are needed to help you as there are a lot of possibilities but more details will help tremendously to try and zero in on the problem.
Topside leaks. Is the trailer it is stored on level or leaning down at the front. If so, then jack it up.
I would look at chain plates next. I forgot if it has an anchor locker and if so, I would check the drain hose and any other fittings

Hi Dave. I did move the boat and have cracked up the jack. I am out of town for a couple of weeks and will then check water and anchor locker. My next thought would be to robed the deck hardware. I don't know how the hardware is put on as I can't see any thru bolts because of the head liner in the cabin. The only thru bolts I can see are for the winches. I am also going to reseal the portals as I know the starboard one is leaking. Appreciate the info you pass on. Thanks. Bill

Biggest culprits have been referred to. Before going to the extent of rebidding, pressurize the cabin and where air bubbles are coming out will be a source of potential leaks. To do this, close off opening ports and forward hatch taping the seals over. Take a large piece of plastic and tape it over the entire companionway. Put a small slit in it to accept a leaf blower. With another person with brush in hand and bucket of good old soapy water, turn the leaf blower on to pressurize the cabin and have the other person brush every port, fitting, rub rail, etc and where you see air escaping via air bubbling, that is a potential source for leakage. When you get back, privately email me at davecondon@mindspring.com with phone number and location and I will call to assist. As the top dealer for the 23 along with many other trailerable hunters but now retired, I will assist in what ever information you need as long as you are in either the U.S. or Canada

i have also had a leak where the starboard cockpit side flat plastic cup holder screws go threw the fiberglass. I had water in the light housing over the aft birth and after running a hose on it found a drip off of one of the screws. I put the screws back in with 5200 and it fixed the problem. I also just fixed a water in the bilge problem i would get after sailing. It was where the compression post mounts into its fitting. I reapplied 5200 and made a flexable rubber joint to cover the joint using a piece of bike tube. I wrapped it around the joint and sealed with the cement that comes in a bike tube repair kit and placed a hose clamp above and below the joint so if it fails in the future the flexible rubber joint cover will contain the water.
