I have a 1998 Hunter 310 that's new to me. I've been getting salt water in the bilge lately. I found that it is coming from the drain hole in the bilge compartment just forward of the motor. I don't know where the water that comes out this hole comes from.
I do need to repack the stuffing box as it lets in more water than it should but even when the pan below the stuffing box is relatively dry (and contained) I get water from the drain in the bilge just forward of the motor. Any ideas where this water could be coming from? I guess my question is "where does the water come from that drains into the hole in the bilge just forward of the motor?" Thanks.
