Had a great sail today on Lake Norman, sunny 70 to 75 degrees with 5 to 10 knots of wind. My 7 year old who was playing in the cabin noticed water dripping from the cabin light just forward of the compression post. I removed the wood access plate which is immediately forward of the compression post and it was dry as a bone with no sign of water. Then I took of the light fixture and again it was dry as a bone. Inside the fixture had about 2 to 3 ounces of water. Is this just condensation? The other fixtures are dry. Sounds like a case for Sherlock "Crazy" Dave.

Seal it!

Likely coming in, at or behind the CB top uphaul sheave below the mast. Caulk what you can see. Other then this prehaps a bad seal on your mast lighting plug or anyother thru device such as VHF etc. Check your mast butt base too..

leak

John; check where the downhaul line goes into and see if that is the area. The compression post tube/pipe goes through the deck and is sealed around that. Generallly, I afind the caulking around the seal is broken and putting selant arroung the sheave area will ifx the problem. Take a hose on the deck and check the other fittings first with the cieling liner covers removed to inspect that first. Get back with me. You know where I am. Looking forward to hearing from you.
