water hose alingment for hot water tank

I had to replace hot water tank hoses to engine due to chaffeing. In this process I removed the hotwater tank I did not mark which hose was in or out. Furthermore I am not sure which side of the hot water tank is in or out. any imfo is helpful. If those of you have any pictures that would appreciated.

Is it a raritan heater?

Just go to the web site the water heaters havn't changed is 20 years.
