I have a 6 gallon Seaward water Heater and the heating element
does not function. Is it a replaceable part or do I have to buy a new one?

Yes the heater element is available as a separate part. The P/N for the heater element is 73125 and the gasket is 73124. Make sure to change both when you remove the element. However I would check the circuit to confirm the element is bad and not the temp control thermostat or temp limit switch. Have you checked the reset button on the high temp switch?
