Water Heater switch/ breaker

Good morning everyone,

I seem to be unable to turn off my water heater unless I turn off the entire AC service. There is a button on the panel labeled "water heater" (see pic) but it seems to do nothing. There is no "click" when you push it...is that a breaker that resets only when tripped, or do i have a failed switch?

Failed switch. Try Seaward for a replacement. IIRC, there was a recent thread about finding these pushbuttons, sorry, don't have a link.

They are actually "old school" circuit breakers, Seaward as Stu mentioned or Catalina Direct carries them.

sorry if i keep asking the same question, but why use cstalinadirect while seaward is stiil in busines?

Hey fox islander -- the breaker is a push on/push off. You can get them at Catalina direct or from Catalina. 20 amp, about $40
