HAD WATER SENSOR GUAGE "BLEEDING" A BLUE-GRAY COLOR INTO MY FWD WATER TANK ON MY 450, #19. CHARCOAL LIKE FLOAT SEEMED TO BE DETERIORATING. REPLACED AT COST OF $15.AT ANCHOR OR SLIP, HELM HAS MOVEMENT OF 1/2 TO 3/4 EITHER WAY, DESPITE CRANKING DOWN ON HELM BRAKE. ANY ONE ELSE EXPERIENCING ANYTHING LIKE THIS.?

Helm Slack

I have H450 hull #20 and have the same slop in the helm when at anchor or at the dock. When a wave comes through or if any current/surge, the helm goes back and forth and makes a "clunk" noise, very noticable in the aft cabin. Dealer said to check universal joint connections. They are all tight. No helpful information in the Whitlock manual. I would like to discuss this with you directly to see if we can figure something out. I am concerned that all that movement over time will do damage that could lead to failure of steering at inopertune time. My email is tucandream@aol.com
