While sailing in our home waters of Resurrection Bay this past weekend, I noticed (for the second time) a small amount of water under the galley counter and companionway steps. The water was salt, it was near the galley sink/icebox through-hull, and it never made it to the bilge. In other words, the bilge is dry, and the water stays inside the "second skin" of fiberglass. It never amounts to more than a cup or two, and I have satisfied myself that the through-hull fitting itself (where it meets the hull) does not leak. While sailing, we always keep the through-hull shut. So...what is going on? My wife has a theory that salt water "wicks" up the CB pendant line and drips down beneath the galley. I am, however, skeptical. Any advice?
