ALL OR NOTHING
It's definitely all or nothing when it comes to the ballast tank. And if you want to be exta cautious you should have the tank full even if you are planning to motor. If you were to have the tank half full you run the risk of capsize due to the water sloshing back and forth. Please don't take any waterballasted boat out half full. I keep mine filled whenever the boat is in the water.
