Water balast seal

The rubber seal has separated from the steel plate that opens and closes the ballast tank. As a result I have gone out with less than a full load without realizing it, a tipsy trip. Any suggestions for an adhesive that will last in the seawater between rubber & steel?

RUBBER ADHESIVE

I HAVE A 240 AND WAS NOT AWARE THERE WAS A GASKET HERE. YOU MIGHT TRY WEATHER STRIP ADHESIVE, WHICH IS SOME PRETTY STICKY STUFF. YOU CAN GET IT AT ANY AUTO PARTS HOUSE. ANOTHER CHOICE IS CHECK WITH A RUBBER AND PLASTICS INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTOR. THEY DEAL WITH THIS STUFF EVERY DAY AND MOST HOUSES WILL BEND OVER BACKWARDS TO HELP.

Gasket

Your's is the second post I've seen recently in reference to the gasket. I'll be checking mine before launch this year. Would 3M 5200 be a candidate for this application. I think it will bond rubber, but not positive.

gasket

Definitely use a good grade of sealant but again I suggest using GM 5200 for that. Replace the gasket if torn up and/or gone. You can get to this with the boat on the trailer. Sean; I have your boat in the lift to clean out the housing area of those pesky critters called Barnicle Bill. Freebie. Crazy Dave Condon
