Waste water pump

I just bought a Catalina 25 and am discovering new things on it everyday I go out. There is a jabsco waste water pump in it.

The waste water pump looks like its connected to a hose under port side cockpit seat. Can I run this pump thru the hull valve and pull water to spray off the deck?

Here's the pump. I'm not sure if I need water in my tank for the hose but the water hose is connected to it and next to the pump is a thru hull valve

I can't tell from the pix does the hose from the thru hull go to the pump? It would appear this is your fresh water pump and yes you would need water in the tank. You do not want to use it for raw water washdown if the is the case. It is unlikely your boat has a raw water washdown this is more common on fishing boats than sailboats. This would be the type of pump used for raw water washdown though. Fill you water tank and see if running this pump will give you water to your sinks.

Wayne's right. But the BEST thing YOU can do is to follow the hoses. Only YOU can figure out where they come from and where they go, 'cuz YOU'RE on the boat and we're not.

Thanks. I ended up doing some cleaning and then sailed. It not any thing I need done quickly. I will figure it out.

There is no running water at my slip. So filling the water tank will be a chore. It will be some time before I get out on it and need the sink. Just day sailing right now. Still very new to it.

Any recommendations for a decent submersible pump for washing off the deck though?
