Monte Carlo 32 Chania
I am trying to add a waste tank in my Beneteau Monte Carlo 32 (2009 model). Any advice / ideas where I should put it and what capacity it should have ?
According to the manufacturer specs, the capacity of the one Beneteau installs is 80L, but there is no information on where it should be placed.

Let's start with size--whether you need 80 liters...How many people typically aboard and for how long? Do you cruise blue waters where you can flush directly overboard, or pretty much stay coastal? Where in the world are you...where there are strict marine sanitation regs or next to none?

As for where to locate the tank...You want to simplify the plumbing as much as possible...so where is the toilet located in the boat--forward in the cabin or aft? Is the head sink on the same side of the keel as the toilet?

Those are only a few of the questions I'll have for you, but enough to begin.

80 liters would not be too large for your use. Best location would be in a settee forward of the head. As for plumbing, you'd want a y-valve in the toilet discharge line that provides a choice of going into the tank or directly overboard at sea. We can discuss fittings locations, hose runs etc via email if you'd like to send me a PM that includes your email address.
And btw...where are you in the world? I may be able to suggest tank mfrs who offer better selections than the standard off-the-shelf "boxes."
