Had to plow a quarter mile driveway with the tractor all up hill with part of that at a 30% incline in some places with over 3 feet of snow in some places. It was very warm, 9-12 degrees one morning. However, I dress for the occasion and was quite toasty outside all day as I had two other long driveways to plow as well.

Better Homes and Gardens magazine used to have a monthy column, "The Neighbor Next Door" I believe it was. Little snipitts and observations on life. One in particular that I remember goes something like, "the nicest part of retirement is sitting at the wondow with a hot cup of coffee watching your neighbors shovel out their cars so they can go to work". So true, as I am doing just that today in Annapolis.

Honestly, nothing thrills me more in the winter than a nice snowstorm. I hate winter without snow anyway, and as far as I'm concerned, we had to wait WAY too long for this little treat to come around. Our total was about 20", maybe a little more. After the driveway and the backyard patio was cleared, it was time to set up a little bar in preparation for the football games.
Next weekend, I'll finally be on skis. If it weren't for sailing, I'm not sure how I get thru the off-season!
(Sue shoveled the deck and made a big pile on the corner of the patio. Instead of whining about it as I usually do, I decided to make lemonade out of lemons, so I carved out a nice waist high bar top. It stands right outside the sliding glass door for easy access!)

I love that photo. Just ran out of my moonshine after three long driveways. I will get some peach ? soon to take care of that.
