BROAD REACH

I recently removed two lines that I use to control my jib cars. They are both about 35 feet long. They are dirty and stiff and full of salt water. What is the best way to wash them and soften them up ?? RD

Wash them in the washing machine.

RD: I would put them in a laundry back or a pillow case. Wash them in the washing machine. Add some fabric softener and let them air dry. Some just soak them in water with the fabric softener.

ditto steve's reply

I didn't use a bag to put them in and the result was ugly. Medusa revisited.

I wash lines

with an electric power washer. Lay them out in long lazy loops on a paved surface, walk back and forth with the spray wand, and it blows all the crud off and out the lines. Lines are clean and nice and soft.
