My dock lines and sheets are getting dirty and stiff, but not worn. Has anybody washed them in a washing machine? Bob

yes, but

Be careful that they don't get wrapped around the agitator. Best to put them in a mesh bag. Use fabric softener too.

Don't use fabric softener

I wash my dock lines every year during the off season. Put them in a mesh bag or pillowcase. Use gentle cycle and very little, mild detergent. I read somewhere not to use fabric softener because it breaks down the fibers. Mine come out great.

How to untwist? *cry

I tried washing my old three-strand docklines in the washing machine last winter. They came out clean and soft, but the end that has the loop on each line now has a permenant twisted kink. I have tried un-kinking by placing the bitter end through the loop and pulling it through, but that didn't help much. Any ideas?
