. . . or was it just a nicety? Guys and Gals: I would be happy to get a bucket of soapy water and wipe down the bottom of my 27 foot Catalina. The recent power wash (after winter haul out) cost 250+ dollars. Yet some sailors never take their boats out of the water except for repair. So some boats most go years without the power wash, no? Was the power wash really necessary? I could have used $ 250 toward a bimini. Melody

power wash??

Usially i have a diver clean the bottom and check the zincs.. costs about $1. per foot...about every three or four months... When i had the boat pulled they charged me $245. (Hunter 40) it included a power wash and repainting the keel... they used the same type of pressure washer you see at the do it yourself car wash. T.

Check what ALL was included !

Was the charge for the hull-out & the power wash. Perhaps storage also? If just for the power wash you got hosed, BIG Time !!! The power wash IS necessary when leaving the boat out of the water.

Depends on what you got but....

we pay $5/ft for a pull/wash/splash. If you get storage for a few months included in the deal, I think you got a pretty good deal.

Power wash VERY necessary at haulout

To remove the slime while it's still wet, 'cuz once that stuff dries, you can't dynamite it off. However, I do hope that the $250 included hauling and setting your boat too, 'cuz that's a ridiculous price for a power wash alone.
