2004 H126 - Limited Warranty Provisions
The Hunter Marine Limited Warranty that I received for a new 2004 H216 had to the following provisions that you should be aware of. Looking at the warranty for my boat I notice the following things that you, as a subsequent owner, are required to do to ensure the transfer of the warranty to you. If you are buying a used boat from an indivivual, it is important to confirm that the necessary paperwork was done by the previous owner(s) and dealer and sent to Hunter Marine to ensure the original warranty is in fact in place on the boat you are considering. Transfer of Limited Warranties -- the warranty is transferable to subsequent owners if 1) a notice of the transfer of ownership of the boat is given by the subsequent purchasers in writing to Hunter within 30 days of the transfer. 2) the notice shall include the name, address and telephone number of the subsequent purchaser, date of purchase, boat hull number and the name of the seller of the boat. Upon receipt of this information, Hunter Marine is supposed to send the subequent purchaser the expiration dates of the limited warranties to the subsequent owner. The limited warranty provisions are based on any repairs or replacement be made by an authorized Hunter dealer, or at the option of Hunter, at the Hunter plant. You, as the subsequent owner, will be responsible for the transportation costs to and from the Hunter plant. Labor cost reimbursement by Hunter Marine is based on a labor allowance schedule and must be approved by Hunter.
